Walfredo Cirne's Photography Page |
I find Photography to be really amazing. Ever since I can remember, I have had an incredible amount of fun in taking pictures. Capturing a beautiful or memorable image has a very strong appeal for me. Moreover, when I carry a camera, I pay more attention to the surroundings. The simple possibility of taking pictures "improves" the way I see the world.
I've had a nice point&shoot camera for quite a while. As with most people, I've used it to take travel and party pictures. About one year ago, however, my wife asked for a fancy semi-professional camera as her birthday gift. Since the thing was expensive, I ended up giving her the lens and she bought the camera body. Of course, I borrowed the camera many times. :-)
Well, since then I've been learning what the expression "bitten by the photography bug" really means. :-) I estimate that I have taken about 2,000 pictures since then! I bought books, searched the Web and took classes. I got to know a lot of people involved in Photography and found out that one of my friends shares the same passion. I've also been sinking my money in more equipment (cameras, lenses, a slide projector, a film scanner, and a photo-quality printer). You get the picture: I've been having tons of fun exploring photography. This has been especially nice because my wife is pretty much into it as well and then we have the joy of doing together something we both really like. Furthermore, we split the cost of equipment. :-)
All that boils down to this page!!! Taking pictures is extremely fun. But so it is sharing them. After giving pictures to many of our friends and filling out all our wall space, I felt that it is time to put them on the Web. Hopefully new and old friends will enjoy seeing them. It has also the nice side-effect of encouraging me to learn a little bit more about Photoshop (it is incredible how powerful and hard-to-master this software is).
So, let's go for it! :-) Since everything has to start from a beginning, here is my first "Web exposition": Plants & Flowers.
Hope you have liked it.
